Karting tracks in Barcelona

Tracks: 9
Towns: 8
Longest layout: 1340 m

Barcelona has nine circuits listed in the directory, and unlike the southern coastal provinces, they aren't concentrated along the beachfront: they're spread across the metropolitan area, the Vallès, the Penedès, central Catalonia, and the Osona region. It's a province where karting doesn't rely solely on tourism, and that's reflected in the type of facilities available.

The clearest contrast is between the indoor tracks and the longer indoor circuits. Indoor Karting Barcelona in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Karting Penedès in Vilafranca, Gené Karting Viladecans, and Nürburgreen Indoor in Les Franqueses del Vallès are the four indoor circuits in the province—by far the highest number in Spain—with tracks of 500 and 600 meters, as measured by our records. They are technical tracks and suitable for any day of the year, regardless of the weather. The Les Franqueses track uses electric karts.

At the opposite end of the spectrum is Karting Castellolí, with a verified 1,340 meters: the longest track we have measured in Barcelona and one of the longest in the entire directory. Located in the Castellolí Motor Park, next to the A-2 motorway, an hour from the center of Barcelona, it's the closest to the idea of a competition circuit and the least like an afternoon attraction. Karting Cardedeu, with 731 meters, and Karting Sallent, with 450, complete the outdoor options in the interior, while Circuit d'Osona Karting covers the Vic area, quite far north of the rest.

Viladecans is the only municipality in the province with two circuits listed in the directory: the indoor Gené circuit and the outdoor Karting Minilandia circuit. If you live in the Baix Llobregat region, it's the only place where you can choose between the two without having to leave town.

What you won't find on this list is a circuit within the city of Barcelona: there aren't any. All require a car or train, and the closest to the city center are those in the Baix Llobregat region. Of the nine, we were able to verify the track length for five; for the other four, we prefer not to publish a figure we haven't been able to confirm.
