Karting Penedès

The track

Karting Penedès is a 600-meter indoor track located on Avinguda de Tarragona in Vilafranca del Penedès, the capital of the Alt Penedès region. It is the only indoor karting track in the province of Barcelona located outside the metropolitan area; the other three are concentrated in the Baix Llobregat and Vallès regions.

This makes it the go-to destination for the entire region and parts of Garraf and Baix Penedès—an inland area where, if it rains or gets too hot, there’s no indoor alternative within half an hour. At 600 meters, it also features a long track for an indoor facility: most indoor tracks are shorter, limited by the size of the building.

It hosts children’s birthday parties, group events, and bachelor/bachelorette parties.

The hours are clearly geared toward the afternoon and evening: Tuesday through Thursday it’s open from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., on Fridays it stays open until 1:00 a.m., and on Saturdays it opens at 11:00 a.m. and also closes at 1:00 a.m. On Sundays and holidays, it’s open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. It’s closed on Mondays. In other words, it’s one of the few places in the province where you can skate in the early hours of the morning on a weekend, and the only one of its kind outside the metropolitan area.

Vilafranca is forty minutes from Barcelona via the AP-7 and has a Rodalies train station.
