Girona's six karting circuits are all located on the Costa Brava, and not just anywhere along it: Empuriabrava, Roses, L'Escala, L'Estartit, and Palamós form an almost continuous line along the coast of the Alt and Baix Empordà regions. The interior of the province—Girona city, La Garrotxa, and La Cerdanya—has none listed.
This makes this province the clearest example of seasonal karting in Spain. These facilities rely on summer and visitors who are often French or Central European, not local. The practical consequence, if you go out of season, is that it's best to call ahead: a track that's open every day in August might have reduced hours in November, and this is information that changes from year to year, which is why we don't publish it lightly.
Empuriabrava is the most densely populated area: there are two different circuits, Karting Empuriabrava and KartingCross Empuriabrava —the latter located in the municipality of Castelló d'Empúries—with 850 and 900 meters of track respectively. Karting Roses, also with 900 meters and two tracks, is just a few minutes away. Within a mere twenty kilometers of coastline, there are three options, which is more than entire provinces in the interior of the Iberian Peninsula have.
Further south, Karting L'Escala, Karting L'Estartit —in Torroella de Montgrí—and Karting Palamós cover the stretch to the Baix Empordà coast. Palamós appears in the directory with two tracks; the other two, with one. The five circuits for which we have data offer two-seater karts and children's karts, confirming the profile: families on vacation rather than drivers training.
What Girona lacks, as far as we can tell, is an indoor circuit or any track longer than 900 meters. If you're looking for a long track or winter riding without being dependent on the weather, the closest option is in the province of Barcelona.
