The track

Karting Roses is located on the Vilajuïga highway, in the Bay of Roses, within the Alt Empordà region. It has two tracks, and that’s what best defines it.

The main track, for adults and juniors, is 900 meters long and nine meters wide, featuring a long straightaway, two chicanes, and a mix of fast and more technical turns. The second is a children’s circuit measuring 150 meters long and seven meters wide, designed specifically for learning to drive a kart. Having the children’s track separate from the adults’ is no minor detail: it’s what allows a child to drive at their own pace without sharing the track with karts that are three times as fast—which is why, at many circuits, children can only race in separate sessions.

Between the two tracks stands an elevated tower with a bar inside and an outdoor terrace from which you can see both tracks at once. It’s the best solution to the age-old problem at go-kart tracks: those who aren’t racing usually end up standing by a fence, but here they have a place to sit and watch the entire race.

For groups and companies, they organize races in F1 and F2 formats, featuring three heats of seven or ten minutes each, using competition karts powered by 400 cc Honda engines producing 25 CV. Their website states that speeds of up to 95 kilometers per hour can be reached on the large track.

They’ve announced a third track, specifically for juniors, though no date has been set yet. And a practical tip: they don’t publish schedules, so it’s best to call before you go, especially outside the peak summer season in the Empordà region.
