The track

KartingCross Empuriabrava is the most unique entry in this directory—and not because of its size: its track, which is over 900 meters long, combines asphalt and dirt in the style of rallycross, rather than being entirely asphalt from start to finish like the rest of the circuits listed here. It’s located at kilometer 39 of the C-260, in Castelló d’Empúries.

The difference in handling is real and worth explaining. On dirt, the kart slides instead of gripping, so the steering wheel is no longer the only thing that turns the kart: you have to enter the turn with the kart sideways and control the slide with the throttle. This has two practical consequences. First, lap times matter less than consistency, because traction changes with humidity and as other karts pass by. Second, a driver who’s fast on asphalt isn’t automatically fast here, which tends to level the playing field quite a bit for a group of friends with very different skill levels.

It operates with timed sessions that don’t require advance booking and include all equipment, as well as group races in a full Grand Prix format: practice, qualifying, and the race. It also hosts corporate events.

Next to the track is its own amusement park, Crosspark, featuring an obstacle course with a zip line and a log course, inflatables with slides and ball pits, an electric train, mini-golf, and arcade games. This combination makes it one of the few places in the directory where non-drivers also have something to do for three hours—which is usually the downside of going to a go-kart track as a family.

Don’t confuse it with Karting Empuriabrava, which is just a few minutes away, features an asphalt track, and is a separate business with no connection to this one.
