The track

The RacinGas Kart Track is a 950-meter outdoor circuit located next to the A-30 highway between Murcia and Cartagena, at the Valladolises exit, within the municipal boundaries of Murcia but nearly half an hour from the capital. Its location along the Murcia–Cartagena corridor is its main advantage: it’s within easy reach of both cities without being in either one.

The fleet is organized into four categories, and the difference between them isn’t just a matter of engine displacement. The first two are for children, both 120 cc: the Junior Standard, designed as an entry-level vehicle with a speed appropriate for the age group, and the Junior Premium, for children who already have good control of the steering wheel and racing line. For adults, there are the Sodi GT2 and the Sodi RT8, both 270 cc; the latter is the top-of-the-line model and the only one that includes race timing, so it’s the one to choose if you’re planning to compete seriously rather than just drive around.

In addition to rentals, the track offers track time for those with their own karts or minibikes—something not all tracks allow—and hosts events such as bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate dinners, and family celebrations.

The most important thing to know before you go—and it’s highlighted on their website—is that you must make a reservation by phone in advance. This isn’t a track you can just show up at unannounced on a Saturday afternoon, and that’s the biggest practical difference compared to the rest of the tracks in the province. They don’t publish opening hours, so the phone call takes care of both matters at once.
