The track

Karting Salou is a 950-meter outdoor circuit with two tracks, located at kilometer 0.196 of the C-14, at the entrance to Salou. According to its own website, it has been in operation since 1970, making it one of the oldest karting tracks still in operation in Spain and, by far, the oldest among those listed in this directory in the province of Tarragona.

It’s located in the tourist hub of the Costa Dorada, an area with a wide range of leisure options where go-karting competes with the beach and theme parks—and that defines its clientele: vacation groups, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and families. The fleet includes three types of karts to ensure no one is left out: single-seater gas-powered karts, two-seaters for those who don’t drive, and karts for children.

At 950 meters, it ranks in the mid-to-high range for the province, behind El Vendrell and ahead of Calafat, and the two tracks provide enough space to divide groups by skill level.

There’s one detail that this directory can clarify—and which causes real confusion: there are two different go-kart tracks in Salou, and they are not the same business. This one, which uses gasoline and is located on the C-14, and Electric Karting Salou, which features electric karts and is on Mercè Rodoreda Street. They have similar names but different websites and phone numbers, so if you’ve made a reservation by phone, be sure to confirm the correct address. There are no published opening hours, so this is one of those cases where calling ahead will save you a wasted trip.
