The track

Electric Karting Salou is an outdoor track approximately 800 meters long featuring electric karts, located on Mercè Rodoreda Street in Salou. It is billed as Spain’s first 100% electric karting track, and it is certainly the only one in the province of Tarragona with an electric fleet among those listed in this directory.

The difference from a gasoline-powered track isn’t just the engine. An electric kart delivers torque from a standstill, so exiting a turn is more immediate and less dependent on keeping the engine at the right RPM, which usually makes it more accessible for first-time drivers. And since there’s no exhaust, the noise and smell of gasoline disappear: during a group session, you can talk between runs, which is much less comfortable with combustion-engine karts.

It hosts children’s birthday parties, group events, and bachelor/bachelorette parties—the typical crowd in Salou, where the leisure offerings are plentiful but highly seasonal.

Two practical tips before you go. First, the hours: it’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from Wednesday through Sunday it’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a break at noon. The facility itself warns that hours may change depending on the weather—which makes sense for an outdoor track—so it’s best to confirm them. Second, don’t confuse it with Karting Salou, which is a separate business in the same municipality that uses gasoline and is located on the C-14.
