Karting Altafulla

The track

Karting Altafulla is an outdoor track located at kilometer 1175 of the N-340, in the municipality of Altafulla, between Tarragona and Torredembarra. It’s located on the most accessible stretch of coastline in the province: just over fifteen minutes from the city of Tarragona, making it the closest karting track to the city among those listed in this directory.

The fleet includes the three standard types: single-seater gas-powered karts, two-seaters—for carrying a passenger who doesn’t drive or doesn’t dare to go out alone—and children’s karts. This combination allows a mixed group or an entire family to go without anyone being left to watch from the fence—which is the most common drawback of a track with only adult karts.

It has a café, and its stated focus is on children’s birthday parties, group events, and bachelor/bachelorette parties—a logical fit for an area with plenty of family tourism and campgrounds.

There are no published opening hours, so it’s one of those tracks where it’s best to call ahead before visiting, especially outside of peak season: on the Costa Dorada, activity picks up significantly from June through September and drops off considerably the rest of the year. And here’s a useful reference for locating it: Altafulla is one of four go-kart tracks in the province located directly on the N-340—the old coastal highway—along with those in El Vendrell, Coma-ruga, and Calafat.
