Karting Calafat

The track

Karting Calafat is a 700-meter outdoor track located within the Calafat residential development, at kilometer 1118.5 of the N-340, in the municipality of L'Ametlla de Mar, in the southern part of the province of Tarragona. What sets it apart from the rest of the province is its setting: it’s part of the Circuit Calafat complex, a motorsports facility with tracks for cars and motorcycles, so the kart track isn’t located on an open field next to the road but rather within a complex designed for racing.

At 700 meters, it is the shortest of the tracks measured by this directory in Tarragona, and that defines the type of session: fast laps, a series of linked turns, and few breathing spaces—a format that works well for a first-time experience and for short sessions. The fleet runs on gasoline and includes all three types of karts—single-seaters, two-seaters for passengers who don’t drive, and children’s karts—so the whole family can participate.

It has a café and terrace, so the fun doesn’t end when you get out of the kart, and it hosts group events and bachelor/bachelorette parties.

Given its location, it’s the natural choice for anyone visiting the stretch of coast between L’Ametlla de Mar, L’Hospitalet de l’Infant, and Cambrils, and it’s about forty minutes from Tarragona via the N-340 or the AP-7. It’s also the southernmost go-kart track in the province, bringing it closer to the Terres de l’Ebre, an area with very few options of this kind.
