The track

Karting Rivas is a 1,010-meter track located on Calle de la Fundición in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, southeast of the capital. At this length, it is the longest track measured in this directory within the Community of Madrid, ahead of the Jarama track and the indoor track in Las Rozas—the other two for which measurements are available.

Those 1,000 meters change the nature of the session compared to a short track. On a track that takes less than half a minute to complete, the result depends mostly on who you’re racing against; on one of this length, there’s room to find a gap, string together turns, and make your fast lap depend on how you drive. It’s also the go-to spot for anyone who wants to drive seriously without leaving the metropolitan area.

It has a terrace, so the fun doesn’t end when you get out of the kart.

Where it really stands out is in its hours—the most extensive and detailed in the province: it’s open seven days a week, with split hours from Wednesday through Sunday—mornings starting at 12:00 and afternoons starting at 16:00—and closing at 22:30 on weekdays and at 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. On Mondays and Tuesdays, it’s only open in the afternoon, from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Rivas-Vaciamadrid is about twenty minutes from downtown Madrid via the A-3 and has a metro station, so it’s one of the few places you can reach without a car.
