Jarama Karting

The track

Jarama Karting is a 528-meter track located within the Circuito del Jarama complex, at kilometer 28 of the A-1, near San Sebastián de los Reyes. That location is what sets it apart from everything else in the province: it’s not a track next to a highway; it’s located within the circuit that hosted the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and remains one of the country’s best-known motorsports facilities.

The kart track is short and designed for recreational sessions and group activities, not for federated competition, but driving there means entering the same grounds where race cars compete the rest of the weekend—which is part of the experience.

What you need to know before going—and this is the most important part of this guide—is that advance reservations are required, and the hours are limited and split into two sessions. It’s open Mondays and Fridays only from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There’s no karting on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Showing up without a reservation is the easiest mistake to make here—and the one most likely to result in a wasted trip: the A-1 highway at that point is a good half hour from downtown Madrid.
