Karting Soto Dueñas

The track

Karting Soto Dueñas is located at the Circuito Soto de Dueñas, in Arriondas, in eastern Asturias and a short distance from the Picos de Europa mountains.

It is the circuit of Javi Villa, a very relevant Spanish formula racing driver, being the first Spaniard to win a GP2 Series round and even carrying out a Formula 1 test for the BMW Sauber team in 2007

The track is 750 meters long and at least eight meters wide. It starts with a chicane and follows ten turns—six right-handers and four left-handers: four fast, two medium-speed, and four slow—with a long straight of 115 meters. And it doesn't close when it rains: they change the layout and racing continues.

Sessions are ten minutes long. The adult kart is for those over fifteen years old and taller than 1.60 meters, and reaches speeds of around 50 km/h; those between fifteen and seventeen have a speed limiter, unless expressly authorized by a parent or guardian. The children's kart, with a Dino chassis and a 160cc four-stroke Honda engine, is for those between 1.35 and 1.60 meters tall and reaches speeds of around 30 km/h. Those under 1.35 meters tall ride in a two-seater, accompanied by an adult. The children's session includes a helmet, a safety net, a short theory lesson with the instructors, and insurance.

For groups of seven or more, there are two formats: practice, qualifying, and a ten-lap race with two formation laps. From ten people onwards, there is a podium ceremony, and from fifteen onwards, the group is divided and a final is added between the top three from each group.

The facilities are spacious: a cafeteria with a large terrace (serving pizzas, paninis, and snacks) with a bar and foosball table inside, lockers, changing rooms and showers, over 3,000 square meters of parking at the entrance, an accessible restroom, and a shop with racing equipment and spare parts. They also store private karts for rent and have a classroom and an indoor track of over 600 square meters for the road safety education school.

It's open every day from 11:00 to 21:00 between June 15th and September 30th. The rest of the year it's open at 11:00 from Thursday to Sunday, including long weekends and holidays. They're closed for vacation in November, so it's best to confirm before you go by calling 676 19 13 94.
