Karting GP León

The track

Karting GP León is located on the LE-5602 highway in Valdesogo de Arriba, a five-minute drive from León. The track is one kilometer long and varies in width from eight to ten meters.

What sets it apart is the terrain. It’s not a flat track: it has elevation changes, uphill and downhill sections, banked turns, and speed bumps, and that really changes how you drive. On a hilly track, the kart doesn’t feel the same going uphill as it does going downhill, so your braking point shifts depending on where you are; and the banked turns let you take corners faster than they appear from the outside. A track like this takes longer to master, and you’ll enjoy it more the fifth time around than the first.

It has telemetry, which lets you compare each driver’s lap times and see who was actually the fastest—not just who crossed the finish line first. The fleet includes kids’ karts and two-seaters, so the whole family can go.

It’s located within the ACCIONLEON leisure complex, which also offers paintball and “Humor Amarillo,” as well as a barbecue and an open bar for bachelor/bachelorette parties. For a group visiting from out of town, that takes care of the entire afternoon in one place.

The hours are generous and unusual: it’s open all day from Wednesday through Sunday, with no midday break. You can also drive on Mondays and Tuesdays, but only by making a reservation in advance.
