The track

Karting Cabañas Raras is located between the Cubillos del Sil industrial park and Cabañas Raras, in the heart of El Bierzo, about ten minutes from Ponferrada. It covers more than 60,000 square meters and is, by far, the most comprehensive facility listed in this directory: it’s not just a track with extras—it’s a leisure complex with karting at its heart.

Starting with the tracks—there are three, not just one: the competition track, 1,143 meters long and eight meters wide; the rental track, 950 meters long and also eight meters wide; and the children’s track, 200 meters long. No other karting facility in this directory has three separate tracks, and the practical result is that a group race, an individual’s session, and the children can all be on the track at the same time without having to wait for one another. The fleet spans four categories: Baby, Two-Seater, Superkart, and Super Two-Seater.

Its work is recognized outside of Spain: at the 2023 Rental Karting Awards—which honor the world’s best rental tracks and are held in Dortmund—it was among the five finalists in two categories, “Best Initiative and Customer Service” and “Most Inspiring Track.” That year, the jury evaluated 170 tracks from around the world, and only 30 made it to the finals, spread across seven categories.

The karting formats range from Mini GP to Super GP, including GP Karting and a Mega Karting Day. And it has its own championship with real continuity: the Social Series has been running for six consecutive seasons, from 2020–2021 through 2025–2026, with the full history of all seasons published on its website. A championship that has lasted six years says far more about a track than any slogan ever could.

Off the track, there’s paintball on its own field, laser tag, team games, a bar and restaurant with a music terrace, a chill-out area, and an indoor playground with capacity for 24 children ages 3 to 10. And you can stay overnight: it features themed wooden bungalows—one of which has three bedrooms and sleeps up to six people—a restored country house over a hundred years old that sleeps sixteen, and a 24-hour area for trailers and RVs.

That’s what sets it apart from everything else in this directory: it’s the only place where go-karting can be a whole weekend—not just an afternoon. For a group coming from outside León—and El Bierzo is four hours from Madrid and two from A Coruña—being able to stay overnight at the track itself completely changes the plan.
