The track

Go Karts Indoor is an indoor track located in the Parque Principado Shopping Center in Lugones, in the municipality of Siero, next to the A-66 between Oviedo and Gijón.

Being indoors has an advantage that carries more weight in Asturias than in almost any other province: here, you can drive rain or shine. The rest of the tracks in Asturias are outdoors, and one of them specifically warns that the activity cannot take place in the rain—which, in the north, is no small matter.

The fleet consists of three Sodikart models with clearly defined age ranges: the Fun Kid for beginners, ages 6 to 13 and at least 1.30 meters tall; the RT-8 for adults; and the two-seater 2drive, which allows children as young as three when accompanied by an adult. That’s by far the lowest minimum age in the province: at all other circuits in Asturias, a three-year-old cannot drive anything. The adult driver’s seat and pedals are adjustable.

The track features a timing system, protective barriers, and a remote-control system for the karts, which allows staff to slow down or stop a kart from outside the track.

In addition to rentals, it offers driving courses for all ages and road safety courses for elementary and high schools, hosts birthday parties, and offers discounts for groups of more than ten people.

And here’s a practical feature that’s rare at a go-kart track: you can get there by public transportation. TUA’s H and D bus lines connect Oviedo with Parque Principado, and there’s also a FEVE train connection, making it the only Asturian track you can reach without a car.
