Oriokart

The track

Oriokart is an outdoor go-kart track located on the road from Orihuela to Benferri, one kilometer from downtown Orihuela, in the Vega Baja region. At 1,280 meters, it is the longest track measured by this directory in the province of Alicante, ahead of Finestrat and Villajoyosa.

That length matters more than it seems. On a short track—the kind you can lap in less than forty seconds—traffic dictates almost the entire session; on a 1,280-meter track, there’s room to find a gap, string together turns, and make your fast lap depend more on how you drive than on who’s in front of you. It also has two tracks, which allows for separating groups or skill levels instead of mixing everyone together in the same session.

The fleet consists of gas-powered karts, with separate karts for children, making it a great option for families and not just for adults. Services include a merchandise shop and the ability to host groups and bachelor/bachelorette parties—a very common type of event in this region.

The hours are something to keep in mind: it’s open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and closed Monday and Tuesday. Orihuela is half an hour from Torrevieja and Elche, and just over an hour from Alicante and Murcia, so it easily fits into an afternoon outing from either province—but not on a Monday.
