Karting Garrucha

The track

Karting Garrucha is located on the road connecting Garrucha to the interior, in the eastern part of Almería, just a stone's throw from Mojácar and the beaches of Vera. It has two tracks—one large and one small—and uses them to separate drivers by skill level, not just by age.

Its karting progression system is the most clearly defined in the province, with five categories and the maximum speed listed for each. On the large track: the F-300, which reaches 80 km/h and is for experienced drivers aged 14 and older; and the F-200, with a top speed of 40 km/h, designed for adults with no experience and for children aged 12 and older who have already driven karts. Also on the large track is the Super Infantil category, which operates only from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. And on the small track, the two-seater—for children ages 3 and up accompanied by an adult—and the children’s category, for ages 6 and up. All sessions last eight minutes.

That 3-year-old minimum for the two-seater is the lowest in the directory, a distinction shared only with the La Torre Circuit in Zaragoza and Go Karts Indoor in Asturias. And the jump from 40 to 80 km/h between the F-200 and the F-300 explains why they require prior experience for the latter: it’s not just a step up—it’s double the speed.

Here are two practical details they publish that are worth knowing. The first is that it’s open every day of the year except when it rains, because then it closes for safety reasons; in Almería that rarely happens, but on the rare occasion it does, there’s no alternative. The second is that from May through September, Saturday mornings fill up quickly, so they recommend calling ahead, and in July and August they simply don’t book packages due to high demand.

They organize custom races and competitions for bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, companies, and schools. Pets are not allowed, except for guide dogs.
