Karting Copo

The track

Karting Copo is located on the Almerimar Highway, next to the Copo shopping center, in El Ejido. Its track measures 900 meters long by 10 meters wide, with a 100-meter straightaway, on a 20,000-square-meter site.

It is the better-equipped of the two circuits operated by the same company in the province: it features pits and a paddock area, as well as computerized timing. This combination is what makes it possible to host actual races—not just timed sessions—and in fact, it has a racing school for children ages 5 to 14, as well as its own training sessions and championships.

The hours are among the most flexible in the directory, and it’s worth checking them carefully, as they vary significantly by day: Monday through Thursday, it’s open in the morning and afternoon with a break at noon; on Fridays, the afternoon session runs until midnight; on Saturdays, it’s open continuously from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sundays until 10 p.m. In a province where the July and August heat reigns, being able to drive at 11 p.m. on a Friday is no small matter.

It hosts group races, children’s birthday parties, adult birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and corporate events. When you buy tickets through their website, they give you extra minutes: three more for the seven-minute sessions and seven more for the fourteen-minute sessions.

To give you a sense of its location: it shares the same operator, phone number, and website as Karting Roquetas, about thirty kilometers down the coast. They are two separate facilities owned by the same company, and they appear together on the website, so be sure to check which one you’re selecting when making a reservation.
