Mallorca has four karting circuits spread across the island, and the first thing that stands out is that two of them are among the longest tracks in the entire directory. On an island just over 100 kilometers wide, that's not what you'd expect.
Karts Can Picafort, in the municipality of Santa Margalida, appears with 1,600 verified meters, and Circuit Mallorca, in Llucmajor, with 1,200. The one in Llucmajor is part of a complex of circuits that also hosts speed tests, and is the one that comes closest to the idea of a sports facility as opposed to a seasonal attraction.
The distribution follows the island's tourist map, not the population map. Alcúdia and Can Picafort, in the northern bay, each have one— Kartingmania and Karts Can Picafort —and are less than fifteen minutes apart. Cala Millor, on the eastern coast, has its own. And Llucmajor covers the south, which is the area closest to Palma. The capital city doesn't have one listed: those in Palma have the Llucmajor track as their nearest option.
All four are open-air circuits, and three of them offer children's karts, which fits the island's typical clientele: families on holiday looking for afternoon activities. Karts Can Picafort is also the only one with two-seater karts, which is the important detail if someone is going who can't drive alone.
We haven't published the route length for two of the four because we haven't been able to confirm it. And it's important to keep seasonality in mind: on an island where much of the business is concentrated between May and October, the February schedule may be completely different from the August schedule. Before you travel, call ahead.
