The track

Karts Can Picafort is located on the road from Alcúdia to Artà, in Can Picafort, within the municipality of Santa Margalida, in northern Mallorca. At 1,600 meters, it is the longest track in Mallorca and, in fact, one of the four longest tracks in Spain listed in this directory. It has been in operation for more than thirty-five years.

Its karting program is one of the best-documented on the island, with six categories and specific age requirements, horsepower, and top speeds for each: the Kiddy category for ages 6 and up, with 2 CV and a top speed of 25 km/h; the Cadet class for ages 7 and up, with 4 CV and 40; the Adult class for ages 14 and up, with 7 CV and 60; the Competition class for ages 16 and up, with 10 CV and 80; the Professional class for ages 18 and up, with 14 CV and 90; and the two-seater, also for drivers aged 18 and up, with 15 CV and 80 km/h, for two adults or one adult with a child.

This progression from 25 to 90 kilometers per hour in six increments is what allows a six-year-old child and an adult looking for a fast kart to go on the same day, each doing their own thing. And the activities include individual support from instructors, which is no luxury on a 1.5-kilometer track.

The hours are distinctly seasonal, as is typical for northern Mallorca: from May through September, it’s open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day; in October, until 8 p.m.; and from November through April, it’s closed on Mondays—except on holidays—and operates in two shifts with a midday break.

It features a Formula 1-themed snack bar with a panoramic terrace overlooking the circuit, its own repair and tuning shop, and free parking for 100 cars.
