The track

Karting Granada is a 700-meter outdoor track with a long home stretch and a series of turns, and a fleet of twenty karts.

Its technical specifications are among the most detailed in the directory, and there’s one detail that no other track has: its two-seaters have two fully functional steering wheels. That completely changes what they’re used for. In a normal two-seater, the passenger simply rides along; here, they can drive with an instructor beside them who corrects their line—which is the fastest way to teach someone how to drive a kart.

The karts are powered by a 270 cc four-stroke Honda GX engine and weigh 30% less than a conventional kart. Safety features include hydraulic brakes with self-adjusting calipers, a throttle lock during braking—which prevents the classic problem of the clutch engaging during hard braking—pedals adjustable to different sizes, and an ergonomic padded seat. There are also junior karts for younger children, who are supervised at all times.

Sessions last nine minutes and are timed. The track publishes the best times and track records, and broadcasts the times live.

For groups, it offers a full-race format—a qualifying session and fifteen laps with a podium ceremony—for groups of six or more, with reservations made by phone. And a combination that almost no one else offers: go-karts plus a barbecue, which takes care of the group’s meal right on site. It also hosts bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, and corporate events.

A handy tip: You don’t need to make a reservation for a single session. Just show up, check in, and wait your turn on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hours vary significantly by season. In winter, it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays; open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Fridays until 9:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In summer, it’s open every day, with extended evening hours until 11:00 p.m., and from Wednesday through Sunday, it’s also open in the morning.
