Kartódromo Valga

The track

The Valga Kart Track is located in Casal de Eirigo, in the parish of Setecoros, in Valga, halfway between Santiago de Compostela and Pontevedra. It is operated by Hobbykart Competición.

Its defining feature is that it’s set up for competition, not just for driving laps. There are three full-race championship formats, all open to participants aged 16 and older and all including a briefing: the Mini GP, featuring seven laps of timed practice and a 10-lap final, for groups of at least seven people; the GP, featuring a semifinal and a final, each consisting of eight laps; and the Super GP, which includes seven laps of practice and three finals of eight laps each, and requires a minimum of ten drivers. Prizes vary depending on the category and the number of participants.

That minimum of seven or eight people and the age requirement of sixteen are the criteria that define who this is for: it’s a place for a group that wants a real race, not for a couple with kids on just any given afternoon.

For those coming alone or as a couple, there are also individual eight-minute sessions, with the option to purchase two in a row.

And it offers something few tracks in the directory provide: a private driver’s area with a log, where you can track your own progress and lap times over time. This turns one-off visits into a history, which is exactly what keeps repeat visitors coming back.

It does not list the track’s length or width, the types or engine displacements of the karts, or the hours of operation. These are the details missing from this listing.
