The track

Karting Las Américas is located on Carretera General, Exit 78 of the TF-1, in Fañabé, within Costa Adeje, in southern Tenerife, and just a stone's throw from the beaches of Las Américas. It’s an outdoor track—as its own website clearly states—and measures 857 meters long by 8 meters wide, with eight turns: five right-handers and three left-handers. It has its own lighting and timing system.

What sets it apart from everything else in this directory is that it has its own license, which requires passing an objective test to obtain. It’s called the Kart Experience: it consists of two ten-minute sessions in a four-stroke kart, and you must complete four or five consecutive laps in under 43 seconds. Those who pass receive the Events Karts license and can drive the two-stroke kart.

That’s rare and speaks volumes: a two-stroke kart in a rental fleet is competition-grade equipment, and here it’s not rented for money but based on skill demonstrated with the stopwatch. For those who already drive here, it’s a real reason to come back.

The age and height ranges are very clearly defined. Juniors are ages 7 to 13 and must be at least 1.30 meters tall; adults, age 14 and up, must show their ID. And there’s an option for the youngest kids: those 1.20 meters tall or taller can ride in a two-seater accompanied by an adult over 18. Juniors and adults don’t race together, which avoids the classic problem of a child sharing the track with someone going fifteen kilometers per hour faster.

The fleet consists of Sodikarts in three categories: the SR4 for adults, the LR5 Junior, and the two-seater. Sessions last ten minutes.

Here are two practical details that almost no one mentions but are clearly stated here. You don’t need to make a reservation to drive a single session—you can just show up. And since the track can accommodate a maximum of eighteen people, any larger group will be split into two. To organize a custom race, the minimum is eight adults or six children, and a deposit equal to one person’s fee is required at the time of booking.

You may bring your own helmets if they are full-face motorcycle helmets. Drone filming is not permitted. The track offers food service and a large parking area at the entrance.

It is operated by Events Karts, a family-owned business with over twenty years of experience, which operates three other tracks listed in this directory: Karting Cardedeu in Barcelona, Karting Empuriabrava in Girona, and Karting Pino Montano in Seville. From Monday through Friday, they host “Kart Driver Day,” with special rates for Canary Islands residents.
