Karting Correcaminos

The track

Karting Correcaminos is located on Camino Bajo los Nuevos in Recas, half an hour from Madrid via the A-42 and twenty minutes from Toledo. Its track measures 1,280 meters and is designated as an approved racing circuit. Sessions last ten minutes.

There are two admission requirements you should be aware of before making any plans, as they are more restrictive than average: adult karts are for drivers aged 15 and older—not the usual 12 or 14—and children’s karts are based on height, with a minimum of 140 centimeters. The practical consequence is that a small child cannot drive here: there are no karts for anyone under 1.40 meters, nor are there any two-seaters for an adult to ride with the child. For a family with young children, there are other options in the province.

What best describes it, however, is how it operates: it’s a real club, with members, licenses, and driver insurance, and its website features a bulletin board that they designate as the official channel, where they post closures, schedule changes, championships, and announcements. It’s genuinely up to date—there are notices from the last few days, not from months ago—and that makes it the place to check before you go, because the schedule changes from weekend to weekend, and there are days reserved for practice sessions or races when karts aren’t available for rent.

It has a driving school, is also open to motorcycles, and features a restaurant and a playground, so anyone tagging along has a place to wait.

And the rule that sums it all up: for rental karts, it’s essential to make a reservation by phone. This isn’t a track you can just show up at on a Saturday.
