The track

Ding-Dong Karts is located on Río Piedras Avenue in La Antilla, within the municipality of Lepe, on the coast of Huelva. And the first thing to note is what sets it apart from almost everything else in this directory: here, the karts are electric, and the facility is designed from top to bottom for families with young children.

There are two tracks within the same facility, separated by age group. Track 1 is for the youngest children, with two age groups: 2 to 4 years old and 5 to 7 years old, each with its own car model. Track 2 is the fast one—the longest of the two—and is designed for dual use without mixing age groups: there are junior sessions for ages 8 to 18 and adult-only sessions in a competitive format.

Sessions last eight minutes. There are bleachers so families can watch from the sidelines, a pit area, restrooms, parking, a podium for photos, and a giant Parcheesi board. It’s a family-run business and they’re proud of it—just as they’re proud to operate entirely on electricity.

The most important thing to know before you go—and this is a serious warning—is that it’s a seasonal track and is only open in the late afternoon and evening. Its own website states that in the summer it’s open every day from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, with the caveat that hours may vary depending on demand or temperatures, and another page on the same site lists 7:00 p.m. as the opening time. This means that outside of beach season, it’s very likely to be closed, so it’s a good idea to call 656 717 026 before making the trip.

For businesses, the venue offers space for events and presentations, and for families, it hosts birthday parties.
