The track

Karting Rioja is located at kilometer 3 on the Cortijo Road, five minutes from downtown Logroño. It’s an outdoor track with night lighting, a starting light, and a timing system.

What sets it apart from the rest of the directory is its two-seater kart—and it’s worth reading this carefully: it’s a kart adapted for people with limited mobility, for blind people, and for children ages 3 to 8. There are only two other tracks in all of Spain listed here that are truly adapted for people with limited mobility, and none that mention accommodations for the blind. If anyone has assumed that go-karting wasn’t for them, this is the place to ask.

The rest of the fleet consists of adult karts with 270 cc Honda engines producing 9 CV, six children’s karts reserved for children’s group competitions, birthday parties, and children’s events, and drift karts: modified units with extended chassis designed specifically to make drifting easier. It is the second facility in the directory to offer kart drifting.

All karts are equipped with a remote-control safety system that allows them to be operated from a distance—what they call the “safety car.”

Sessions last eight minutes and can be strung together. There is also a championship format consisting of three sessions: sixteen minutes of practice and eight minutes of racing, with grid positions determined by practice times.

The facility features pits, parking, a café, a dining area, and a terrace, making it possible to host a full celebration without having to leave the premises.

Two practical notes: Reservations are required for all activities, for safety and capacity reasons—this is not a place to show up unannounced. And it’s closed on Mondays for a weekly day off: it’s open Tuesday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
