The track

Karting Marineda Sevilla is located at kilometer 3.1 of the A-92, the highway from Seville to Málaga, on the outskirts of the capital. It is an indoor track, and its own website describes it as the largest indoor track in Andalusia.

It is the Seville location of Karting Marineda, the Galician operator that also runs the circuit in A Coruña listed in this directory, so anyone familiar with one will find the same fleet and the same system here.

The fleet consists of Sodikart karts in three categories, and the categories are defined by height as well as age—which is what truly determines who can drive: the LR5 for children, from 1.30 meters tall and up to age 13; the RT8 for adults, for those 14 and older; and a two-seater where the driver must be 18 or older and the passenger can be as young as 3 years old, with a height limit of 1.30 meters.

That height limit for the passenger is the key detail to check before going as a family: a child taller than 1.30 meters can no longer ride as a passenger, but for that very reason, they can drive their own LR5. The two categories fit together seamlessly, which is not always the case.

All karts are equipped with a seatbelt, roll bar, a transponder for timing, and a seat and pedals that are adjustable to the driver’s height. For safety, they feature the Protex Karting system combined with Sodikart’s HEAD System, designed to absorb frontal impacts.

The timing system is well-designed and is one of the track’s hallmarks: data from each race is displayed on a network of screens throughout the circuit, and the results can be viewed in real time on their website with a user account. You can also purchase a video highlights reel of the race, featuring the starting grid, the fastest lap, and the final standings.

Next to the track is a mini-golf course, allowing part of the group to do something else while the others race—useful for a birthday or a company outing—as well as its own clothing and accessories store. It hosts birthday parties, corporate events, and group races.

It’s open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and since it’s indoors, it’s not affected by the weather or the August heat in Seville.
