The track
Karting Alcalá is located on the Frailes road, in Santa Ana, within Alcalá la Real, in the heart of the Sierra Sur region of Jaén.
It has three categories, all with a four-stroke Honda engine: the 120cc Speedy Junior, for ages 6 or 7 and up; the 270cc Speedy Sport, for those over 18—and for minors with parental/guardian authorization; and a two-seater, also 120cc, for children under 6 accompanied by an adult. Both single-seater categories have timed runs.
Its two-seater deserves an explanation, because it's better designed than most: it has two working steering wheels, and the pedals are controlled by the adult. This means the child actually drives—steering, choosing the line—while the accelerator and brake are in the hands of the person next to them. It's the safest way for a four-year-old to experience the thrill of driving.
